Bankruptcy Filings in South Arkansas for the Week Ended October 29th

According to Magnolia Reporter, six bankruptcies were filed in Southwestern Arkansas through the United States Bankruptcy Court for Western Arkansas. The individuals who filed for bankruptcy span across five different counties, including Columbia, Lafayette, Nevada, Ouachita, and Union. Filings range from Tuesday, October 22nd to Tuesday, October 29th. 

Chapter 7 bankruptcies are where the debtor's non-exempt property is sold and the proceeds are distributed to creditors. There is one Chapter 7 bankruptcy that was filed in the area: 

• Barbara Ross (Lafayette County) on October 25th. 

Chapter 13 bankruptcies are where, if the debtor has a regular income, then they can keep their property and pay their debts over a set period. There are five Chapter 13 bankruptcies in the area:
